Sometimes it's a good to go back to your roots. Sesame chicken is probably one of the most well known types of American style Chinese food. It's delicious, satisfying, and found in almost every Chinese restaurant. It may not have any traditional roots in China, but it still tastes great! I know I love it, because it covers half my plate every time I go to a Chinese Restaurant. The usual way to make sesame chicken is to first de-bone pieces of chicken (usually thigh pieces) and batter them. Then you Chinese deep fry the pieces of chicken and dress the them with a sauce made from Asian corn starch, vinegar, wine or sake, chicken broth, and sugar. Finally, to finish this recipe you just add a sprinkling of sesame seed which can be roasted or just put on as they are. Many variations of this recipe can be found everywhere from slight changes in the sauce, to even changing the chicken to shrimp. All of them will probably still end your meal with a satisfied sigh and a longing for more. This delicious dish is Chinese food that'll have you coming back for seconds every time.
