About The Blog
Who's the absolutely Brilliant mind behind this 10/10 Blog?
Well, since you must be so interested to know about the brilliant, 10/10 mind, you'll be disappointed to hear the 10/10 mind is actually a 3.5/27. That's a joke you're supposed to be laughing by the way. Alright, I'll stop joking now and actually introduce myself. I am, (at the time of writing this paragraph), a 13-year-old kid with a lot of backgrounds if I do say so myself. There's my Jamaican mother, my Kenyan father, my American brother, and Canadian me. My family is like scattered mainly across those 4 places mainly and I visited them all at least once (Living in America right now, Woohoo home of the brave land of the free!). I always found it cool though that 2 people from completely different continents somehow met. Anyways I live with a few different cultures behind me as you can see and they aren't afraid to show it in the household. My parents often make many dishes from their own cultures and from others too. Before I go off on my parents and the rest of my family let's come back to moi. I'm like basically every other kid on the planet if you wanted to know. I read books, play soccer and do a bit of taekwondo, eat food, and play basketball or whatever at the park sometimes with my friends. I think of myself as an eccentric person who's very outgoing and usually, end up in awkward situations that result in me digging a deeper hole then when I started talking. I'll save you the trouble of reading my entire character sketch though and just end there for about me. I don't know if you were expecting to get my house address and phone number, but I'd rather just leave it at that. Here's a cool article though a cat who's the mayor of a city in Alaska. http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/04/us/alaska-cat-mayor-attacked/index.html
Tri-Cultural Cuisine
How Did this Blog STart?
Originally, this blog started out as a homework assignment. Truth be told I thought the assignment was going to be pretty boring, but the more I started to work on it, the more I got into it. My original plan had been to make this a food blog on Chinese food called The Chopstick, but I eventually decided to try to expand my boundaries after I turned in the assignment. I wanted to do a bit more on the cultures I know as well as the foods I enjoy as well, and while I could of done things like Indian, Greek, or French cuisine, I wanted to do some of the lesser known cultures as well. Chinese food was the exception though, because let's be honest, who doesn't like Chinese food? After that I just began to work on it more on my own time for like 2 hours a day or so if I could. I told my mom and brother about it, and got some ideas from them, and eventuaally I got my first 77 visitors, yay! That's a pretty pitiful accomplishment, but it's good enough for me. To be honest it's things like those that keep me working on this blog, because I've tried many times before to do things like this, but it usually burns out. Seeing that people are actually looking at my website reinvigorates me, and any encouragement from peers really helps me to push myself. Let's just hope this blog doesn't burn out as well.
Why I Made the BLog
I like food. Thats it. Food is just a wonderful thing, and who doesn't enjoy a good plate of some homecooked meals? I wanted to spread more awareness on different types of food, particularly starting with these three. My mom always asks why I chose Chinese food to be part of the three, to which I always respond with I like Chinese food. And what other reason is there? Most people probably would've went with something like Mexican or Lebanese food, but I didn't really care much about those foods, no disrespect to people from or who enjoy those styles of cooking.I really wanted to make this blog my own if you get what I mean. Filled with stupid 8th grade humor that either I won't get or you won't get, because it's so stupid it's not even funny. I doubt I'm going to get very many laughs, but I'll still put it in anyway. I don't really want to make some boring old blog, spouting boring old facts, just so you can scroll down to find the recipe. I want to make readers want to read the posts, and create a great fanbase of people coming together to enjoy learning new recipes and cultures. That's my main goal for this blog.
Extra Info and Stuff
I just want to say, this blog will probably be pretty inconsistent, I'm just not a consistent person. Everything I do happens in bursts. Short burst of creativity. Short burts of desire. Short bursts of energy. I'm pretty sporadic you could say. That being said, the posts on my blog will probably be just as inconsistent as I am. With the ground work and everything layed for the blog, I'll robably be posting once a week. With school and everything it's kind of hard to keep everything running as often as I would want to. Also a comment on my spelling and typing, try as I might, typing defeats me everytime. Sometimes my sentences just end up completely illegible, and I won't even notice the spelling error or grammar mistakes. I really should just get into the habit of reviewing my paragraphs, but I don't know maybe the genome for spotting and correcting spelling mistakes was never passed down to me, because I can't spot a mistake to save my life. It's like I read over it, but my mind autocorrects the sentence so it makes sense as I read, and I don't notice the fact there was a mistake there. I'll try my best with this though. Finally I want to ask of anyone who knows about, or is from any of these cultures to please correct me if I say something wrong. I don't mean to offend anyone's cultural background, and I want the info on the site to be as accurate as possible. Now I think that should be about it.
